late fathers day

It’s late for fathers day and i really miss my dad, he loved antique and classic cars so much he owned several of them but didn’t keep them too long so he could drive something else.

When I saw this antique car on Free digital vintage stamps, just had to make a father’s day card with it. The sketch is from today’s Mojo Monday.

Less is more challenge this morning- HEXAGONS so here’s A Day for Daisies rooster, pieced with a hex paper in front of some chicken wire, but thought it was too busy so i did another simpler one. The Case study has a hexagon too.. If you like the rooster he’s given away at the adhd challenge.

go vw

The challenge from Less is More is ‘Need for Speed’.. I thought a lot, looked at my stamps and decided the ‘speedy’ stamps i have include humming birds, airplanes or…rabbits, but finally decided on … a vintage vw (from anjis antics)., well when I had a ’63bug it went fast,…. when it was going down hill!

This vw is s combo of several of my past cars. The first bug I got, as a graduation present, was white and my boyfriend and best girlfriend painted dots on it as a surprise (it was white and had yellow dots and i wished the dots had been brighter)! Over the years i owned another bug , a rabbits, a golf, a van and then about 10 years ago, bought a bright red ‘new beetle’.. so this is a combo past bugs, color, and vintage.

As I looked at the published image decided the trim around the card should be dots and the tire hubs need a ‘vw’ on them.
