eclipse monday
Today’s Less is More challenge is Perfect Holiday and next Monday is the day the United States will have a wonderful total solar eclipse. I thought I’d celebrate this event as a holiday. However, I live in one of the places that will see only 80 percent ( if its a clear day), and since i forgot to buy glasses before they became unavailable and I just didn’t plan on going north for the event any way ill miss the best part and only see a little darkness. For the top card I used bleach and stickles as the corona and the one below uses white and pink tissue paper… primitive but fun… where is white ink when you need it?
pine-cone thank you
The Casology theme is prickly..and my first thought was cactus . When I noticed many of the cards created for this challenge used cacti, so I looked through my stamps, and found one with a pine-cone with very prickly pine needles. I don’t remember where I got it, but 3 pine-cones with bunches of needles looks really prickly to me.
yellow dot ’62 bug
When I saw this week’s Less is more challenge One layer Vehicles, decided to re-live an old memory. When I graduated from High school my grad gift from Mom and dad was a ’62 white VW bug., and for my 18th birthday my best friends decided to paint this white vehicle with yellow dots. That’s why at my Vw club friends ( So California Volkschargers) and fellow college students knew me as the girl with the polka dot vw. So for the two challenges, decided to put Yellow dots on a Beccys place ‘crusin digital image, and enter Beccy'[s place August Challenge. . It makes a great note card for me.
splash bday
I made a card for two challenges the AAA Summer Fun challenge and the Seize the Birthday -tie one one. since i tied the shark to the card it fits. its my friend who likes sharks (collecting them not swimming with them) but I think it’s cute enough even for those that aren’t particularly fond of these sea creatures. The stamp is made by PrettyGraftic.
pineapple on kraft
Today’s Less is more was kind of impossible tropical fruits??? I don’t have any stamps except possibly citrus fruit. i would have liked to use a kiwi or possibly a durian(what an interesting smelly fruit) and they would be simple to draw if i were an artist, icant draw but love to stamp. However I was able to find a digital pineapple stamp online from. Pfoinkle. I colored it printed it on white cut it out with just a few leaves outside the oval then pasted on a kraft card. it makes a great note card.
lemons&lobsters
This weeks Casology theme is juicy, i like using lemon juice so while thinking of juicy, I found this fun quote… (however if it were my quote it would be crab instead of lobster). It’s a good play on Life gGiving One Lemons. I love most things lemon … lemonade, Arnold Palmers, lemon pies, lemon cakes ……etc and I do use the lemon tree gifts from my and my mom’s yards. This quote as well as Eating Crab puts a smile on my face.
happy 40th dj
It’s my pilot son’s 40th birthday today so I created a 40 paper airplane salute using paper airplane digital stamps from RhodaDesignStudio (on Etsy.) kinda cute huh?
cat&turtle together
The Colorthrowdown was green and tan so i thought of this A Day for Daisies image….i pieced a tiger stripe for the cat and just colored the turtle.
raspberry time
Here’s a yummy raspberry card. I love raspberries and it is the end of raspberry season, the colors of Color Throwdown reminded me to do a raspberry card with the green, redish and yellow. this will also be entered in the Less is More pierce challenge since i pierced the card to attach. don’t remember where this stamp came from.
shark note
It’s already the end of shark week and i haven’t put up a shark card.. i was in Seattle so that’s my excuse, comming home i spotted a shark from Southwest running thru the terminal , he was too fast for me to take a picture. The shark stamp from Prettygraftic was cut out, pierced with two little holes and attached to the shark notes card with some twine and can be entered in this weeks Less is More challenge Piere Your Project.
