bud&bugs 17

bud&bugs-17I’m entering two challenges this morning.  Using the colors from Color Throwdown  , and the  Casology flow theme.    The image is a Sami digital stamp- bud and ladybugs . I see the flow as the bud image going  from the inside to the outside of the frame   with one lady bug going to the sentiment..notice the ladybug that got away and is the O in the word 4‘you’!

bird&bee apr2017

bird&bee17Here is my entry for challenges  Less is more- curve  using the colors of Color throwdown.   Why  do i think it qualifies for curve?   ’cause the bird  and flowers are really curvy.

cookie jar kid

tollcookiejarTwo challenges this morning the colors of Color Throwdown, the CASology cue Melt. Yes the melt is a stretch, but as the story goes  in 1930,  Ruth Wakefield was mixing a batch of cookies for her roadside  Toll House Inn guests when she discovered that she was out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted broken pieces of Nestle’s semi-sweet chocolate, expecting it to melt and absorb into the dough to create chocolate cookies. That didn’t happen, but the surprising result helped to make Ruth Wakefield one of the 20th century’s most famous women inventors. When she removed the pan from the oven, Wakefield realized that she had accidentally invented “chocolate chip cookies.”

I put  the recipe at the back of the cookie jar. the digital stamp is from A day for Daisies

blue flowers in boots

blue-flowers-in-bootsIt’s been several days since I’ve posted.   I was in San Francisco and since i didn’t take my computer, I couldn’t and didn’t post.   Here’s one for the Less is More challenge  Onelayer – opposite attract, using the ColorThrowdown colors.   I think sturdy ,old,  and worn  boots are the opposite of delicate pretty newly blossomed flowers.

3 heart girls

3-valentine-girlsI like hearts, so its easy to make cards around Valentines day.  The Casology challenge is YOUTH. Ive used  an A Day for Daisy digital stamp with 3 young girls, then   paper pieced their dresses and a heart background.  The colors  are from this weeks Color throwdown.

Valentine jar 2017

hb-valentine-jarI’m using the colors of Color Throwdown to make an entry for a Valentine’s day birthday card.   Along with this birthday card  i  made some thinking of you cards, to include as a little gift.     I just changed the sentiment ( in the middle jar’s pink heart).  The digital stamp is  Valentine jar from Bugaboo digital stamps.  its hard to see the glitter on the jar lid and a few of the hearts, but its there and looks good in person.  I used Photoshop to put the sentiment heart in the middle of the jar.)
